University of Guelph Athletics

In 1936, Stuart was a member of the Dominion Football Championship Team. In 1938, he
represented Guelph in Wrestling and claimed the CIAU Heavyweight title. Stuart repeated as champion in 1939 (while attending the Faculty of Education at the University of Toronto). Later, as head coach of the East Elgin Secondary School Football team from 1958-60, Stuart guided his team to Western Ontario Secondary School Association Sr. A. Championship crowns. In the 1959-60 season, his team outscored the opposition 300-35.
