Carl Jackson – Football/Wrestling/Skiing (1956-1960)
One of our most versatile athletes, Carl Jackson represented the University of Guelph not only in Football but in wrestling and in skiing from 1956-60, however it was on the football field that Carl clearly was at his best. Carl was the heart and muscle in the centre of both the offensive and defensive lines, not to mention his skills on special teams which found him on the field of play from the games initial kick-off to its final whistle. On the offensive side of the ball Carl was an offensive guard and while on the defensive side of the ball he played both centre and tackle. In 1958 Carl captained the Gryphons to the OQAA Championship and the Presidents Cup, and in 1960 was an assistant coach under Head Coach Tom Mooney.
Carl graduated from the University of Guelph with an OAC degree in 1961.
