The marketing management major from Sudbury will be looking to repeat her impressive double-gold performance at the 2022 OUA Swimming Championships, capturing OUA gold in both the women's 100m and 200m butterfly. McDonald, a Gryphon co-captain this season alongside teammate
Darcey Stewart, will be racing in the women's 50m and 200m butterfly this weekend in London. Joining McDonald in the butterfly will be teammate,

Saturday, February 11, 2023
David Braley Athletic Centre | Hamilton, ON (hosted by McMaster University)
On Saturday (Feb. 11), a total of 16 U of G student-athletes (9 men, 7 women) will make the trip down Highway 6 to Hamilton to represent the Guelph Gryphons in the 2023 OUA Wrestling Championships. Leading the way on the men's side is Guelph native, and rookie,
Tristan Cako.

Cako, a landscape architecture major, will compete in the men's 57kg weight class and will look to capture a podium position for the 5th time this season. The 19-year-old has impressed in first season of collegiate wrestling, earning 2nd-place finishes in all but two wrestling meets this season, with the most recent trip to podium coming at home at the Guelph Open on January 22.
On the women's side, fourth-year student-athlete
Jayden Sparks leads the way for the Gryphons in the women's 56kg weight class. In just her second year of competition, Sparks has placed in the top 3 at every meet she has attended, including a pair of 1st-place finishes at the Toronto Metropolitan Open and Senior Provincials. In addition to Sparks,
Kelyn Young will be looked at to help lead the Gryphon effort. For Young, a transfer from the University of Alberta who is now in her first year of competition with the Gryphons, the 2022-23 wrestling season to this point has been a memorable one, with the Brampton native earning a pair of 2nd-place finishes at the York Open and Western Invitational, as well as a win at the Brock Invitational. Her 1st-place finish back in January saw the 20-year-old pin all four opponents, including the 2021 U23 representative for Canada, on her way to being named U SPORTS Wrestling Athlete of the Week.
Wrestling action on Saturday in Hamilton is set to get underway at 10am, with gold medal matches taking place later that day at approximately 3pm.
