312 Student-Athletes Earn Academic Honours in 2021-22

The University of Guelph, Department of Athletics and Recreation is proud to announce that 312 student-athletes achieved an average of 80% or higher during the 2021-22 season.

Out of the 851 Gryphon student-athletes who compete at the OUA or U SPORTS level, 312 of those were able to reach the 80% plateau, or higher. As a result, the Gryphons boast a ratio of one-in-three when it comes to student-athletes earning the title of Academic Award Winners.

"Over 30% percent of our Gryphon student-athletes have earned Academic recognition this year, an outstanding accomplishment, and I'd like to extend my congratulations to each of them on this achievement," said Director of Athletics and Recreation, Scott McRoberts. "I'm so proud to see our Academic award numbers continue to flourish each year. This is a credit to each of these student-athletes hard work and determination in putting education first."

"I would also like to acknowledge and thank our coaches, academic advisors, student athlete mentorship program, faculties and departments who have created a supportive environment to make it possible for our student-athletes to achieve their academic goals."
