GUELPH, Ont. - The defending OUA men's rugby champions took another step towards a successful title defence tonight (Oct. 6), picking up a dominant win over the Waterloo Warriors at Varsity Field 64-6. The Gryphon trio of
Jack Morris,
Joshua Henry, and
Kobe Faust led the way, each scoring a pair of tries in the second one-sided affair the undefeated men's rugby team has been a part of this season.

The Gryphons did not take long to get on the scoreboard, with second year scrum-half
Ewen Curry finding the endzone in just the second minute of the match. Over the course of the next 38 minutes the Gryphons were able to score tries on four more occasions while holding the Warriors out of the endzone. The only Waterloo scores that the Gryphons gave up were thanks to a pair of successful penalty kicks in the 13' and 32' minute. When the two teams returned to the pitch for the second half, fans saw an even more one-sided affair with the Gryphons holding the visiting team scoreless. The Gryphs were able to find the endzone five more times as the continued to extend their lead and solidify another impressive victory on the season.
With just two games remaining in their 2023 OUA regular seasons schedule the Gryphons (4-0) will now shift their focus to the McMaster Marauders, their opponent for the penultimate game of the season on October 14 in Hamilton. The team will then close out the regular season back at home against the Western Mustangs on October 21.
