GUELPH, ON - Friday night under the lights at Varsity Field, the Gryphons men's rugby team improved to 4-0 on the season with a dominant 80-0 victory over the visiting University of Toronto Varsity Blues. With the loss, U of T falls to 0-4.
Fresh off of an impressive 67-5 road victory over Brock, the Gryphons continued their dominant play on Friday night by pushing the Varisty Blues all over the field. After missing the previous two weeks due to injury, the Gryphons got a nice spark from wing man
Andrew Douglas (Chippawa, ON) who scored a hat trick with three tries on the night.
Cody Weese-Burton had a great night with the foot, going 10-for-12 on conversions while
Ryan Brethour was the Gryphons most physically dominant player in the game. In all, a total of nine different players scored tries in the match for Guelph as the Gryphons remain undefeated at the midway point of the regular season schedule.
Up next for the Gryphons, a trip to Waterloo on Saturday, Oct. 1st to face the 2-1 Laurier Golden Hawks.
