Offence was hard to come by for the Gryphons on the night, especially in the second quarter where they were held to nine. Centre
Adam Kemp was Guelph's leading scorer with 14 points on seven of 12 shooting. The Thunderwolves meanwhile had a balanced attack with a total of five players scoring in double figures. Dwayne Harvey and Anthony McIntosh led the way, each finishing with 14 points.
Both teams struggled with their jump shots, especially from beyond the arc as Guelph went 2-of-13 from downtown while Lakehead was just 1-of-19 from three point territory. The Thunderwolves were able to make up for some poor outside shooting by dominating on the glass. Lakehead out-rebounded the Gryphons 45 to 21 on the night.
