London, Ont. – The Gryphon men's basketball team dropped the opener of their OUA sked 85-71 at Western.  After a tight opening half that saw the two teams head into the locker room tied, the Mustangs would pull away thanks to a big third quarter in which they outscored the Gryphons 25-13.
 
Guelph had three starters score in double figures (Daniel Dooley 17, Trevor Thompson 15, Michel Clark 11).  The Gryphons got off to a fast start, putting up 28 points in the opening quarter.  From there, the offense would stall – scoring just 12 in the 2^nd and 13 in the 3^rd.  The Gryphons will look to bounce back Saturday night vs the Lancers in Windsor.
