WATERLOO - The Guelph Gryphon women's soccer team opened the regular season today with a 1-1 tie against the Waterloo Warriors in Waterloo.
Guelph went up 1- 0 late in the first half and missed some excellent scoring opportunities in the second half before the game was delayed at the 75th minute due to lightning. Â Waterloo tied the game shortly after the game resumed. Â Guelph put Waterloo under pressure for the remainder of the game but could not notch the winner. Â Goal scorer for Guelph was second year Natalie Schott (Toronto) who made a good run into the Waterloo box and side footed an excellent cross from first-year Courtney Whiteside (Guelph, Ont.) into the net.Â
The Gryphons will continue their weekend road trip tomorrow (Sept. 4) against the Laurier Golden Hawks in Waterloo at 1:00p.m.
