GUELPH, Ont. - The Guelph Gryphons women's soccer team continued their flawless start to the 2026 season, defeating the Brock Badgers, 3-1, on Sunday afternoon from the Gryphon Soccer Complex to extend their win streak to seven straight matches to start the season. Brooklyn McLaughlin, a human health and nutritional sciences major from Cambridge, extended her goal scoring streak to three as she opened the scoring in the 12th minute to give her side the early 1-0 lead. After Brock scored in the 20th minute level the match at 1-1, the Gryphons would restore their one-goal advantage in the 34th minute thanks to their captain, Olivia Rizakos. Rizakos would win the race to the loose ball and beat the Badger keeper while holding off a Brock defender. For Rizakos, the reigning U SPORTS Player of the Year in women's soccer, it marked her team-leading 6th goal of the season and gave Guelph a 2-1 lead.
