Gryphons to host Rugby Day in Guelph

The Guelph Gryphons are set to host Rugby Day in Guelph, a full day celebrating Gryphon Rugby and the sport in our community which will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025. The event will feature five matches, including men's and women's Gryphon varsity teams, second teams, and a club match to kick off the day.

The day will feature a fan experience with food trucks, on-site food and beverage options, halftime mini-games featuring local kids' club teams, and special alumni gatherings for both the men's and women's programs. The Guelph Rugby Football Club (Guelph R.F.C. – Goats & Junior Gryphons) will also be involved, helping make the day a true community celebration.

Schedule: Sept. 6, 2025

9:30am – Curtain Raiser: Guelph Jr. Gryphons U16 v Oakville Crusaders U16
11:00am – Men: Army vs. Gryphons (2nds)
1:00pm – Men: Army vs. Gryphons (Inaugural Cannon Cup match)
3:30pm – Women: McMaster vs. Gryphons
5:00pm – Women: McMaster vs. Gryphons (2nds)

The men's varsity match at 1:00pm will mark the first-ever Cannon Cup — part of a new annual home-and-home series between the Gryphons and the Army Black Knights from West Point, New York.
