ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The four-time defending OUA Champion Gryphons men's rugby team opened up the 2025 season with an impressive 78-5 road win on Saturday afternoon (Sept. 13) over the Brock Badgers. The Gryphons scored three tries in the opening 11 minutes of the match as they were able to take an early 19-0 lead over the Badgers as they were able to cruise to their first win of the season. Brenden Black and Jacob Ince led the way for Guelph scoring two tries each as ten different Gryphons recorded a try in the victory. The Gryphons (1-0) are back on the road next Saturday (Sept. 20) when they travel to Toronto to take on the Toronto Varsity Blues.
