LETHBRIDGE, Alberta – The Gryphons women's curling team finished in 5th-place at the 2025 U SPORTS/Curling Canada Championships after four days of competition (Feb. 24-28) from Lethbridge, Alberta.

The Gryphons were represented by
Jillian Uniacke (skip), Abbey Parkinson (vice),
Liana Flanagan (second),
Monica Tanguay (lead) and
Sarah Woodward (alternate) as they earned their spot at nationals after winning an OUA bronze medal at the 2025 provincial championships. Eight teams from across the country made their way to the Lethbridge Curling Club, making up the field for the 2025 U SPORTS/Curling Canada Championships, with the Gryphons facing all seven teams during the pool play portion of the tournament on the first three days of competition. The Gryphons finished with a 3-4 record, coming on strong in the final day winning both their matches versus Regina and StFX, but ultimately fell just short of reaching the national semifinals.
The Gryphons championship appearance got off to a slow start, dropping their first three matches as they were behind the eight ball heading into the third day. The OUA bronze medalists got their first win of the tournament on Draw 7 when they defeated the hosts, the Lethbridge Pronghorns, 7-2.

However, the Gryphons would fall to Thompson Rivers later in the day (Feb. 26) to see their record at 1-4 heading into the final day of pool play. The Gryphons found themselves on Thursday (Feb. 27) needing to win both of their matches and get help to qualify for the semifinals. Guelph took care of business on their end, winning both of their matches defeating Regina 6-4 and StFX 9-5 to finish pool play with a 3-4 record. Unfortunately for the Gryphons, help never came as McMaster and Thompson Rivers won both their final two matches to finish with a 4-3 and 5-2 record, squeezing Guelph out of the final semifinal spots. The 2025 U SPORTS/Curling Canada Championship will wrap up with the gold and bronze medal draws on Friday afternoon in Lethbridge.
