WINDSOR, Ont. – For the ninth time in program history, the Guelph Gryphons men's track and field team have been crowned OUA champions. Over the course of two days of competition (Friday, Feb. 21 & Saturday, Feb. 22) at the University of Windsor's Dennis Fairall Fieldhouse, the Guelph Gryphons track and field team put together a sensational weekend. The Gryphons men's track and field team put together a memorable rally on the second day of the competition, overcoming a 22-point deficit to surpass the Western Mustangs for top spot in the final team standings to claim the 2024-25 OUA Men's Track & Field title. It marks the ninth time the Gryphon men have claimed the conference banner, with all nine OUA title comes since the 2012-13 season.

On the women's side, the Gryphons claimed OUA silver by finishing 2nd in the final team standings, with the Western Mustangs successfully defending their OUA title. The Gryphons sent 58 student-athletes (29 men, 29 women) to Windsor for the 2025 OUA Championships, with Guelph ending the two-day meet with 25 medals (10 gold, 5 silver, 10 bronze). The Gryphons were dominant in the relays, topping the OUA podium on five different occasions. The Gryphons also received OUA gold medals from the reigning OUA Athlete of the Year,
Max Davies, who defended his OUA title in the men's 1000m. Jen Elizarov, the OUA record-holder and reigning U SPORTS gold medalist in the women's pole vault, also successfully defender her OUA crown. While
Adenike Abiodun (women's 60m hurdles), first-year standout
Dianna Proctor (women's 300m) and
Rebecca Parker (women's pentathlon) all earned a spot atop the OUA podium in their respective disciplines.
The Gryphons will now prepare to defend their national titles on both the men's and women's sides, after sweeping U SPORTS banners a season ago. The Gryphons will make the familiar trip back to southern Ontario in two week's time, with the University of Windsor also set to host the 2024-25 Biosteel U SPORTS Track & Field Championships (March 6-8, 2025) in the Dennis Fairall Fieldhouse.
