TORONTO, Ont. - On Monday, September 16, 2024, the U SPORTS office released its latest national rankings for the 2024-25 season with two Gryphon varsity teams making an appearance in the latest rankings. The women's rugby team remains in their position as the No. 2-ranked program in county ahead of their showdown against the No. 1-ranked Queen's Gaels. Also cracking into the Top 10, the Guelph Gryphons football team are in the national rankings for the first time in two years.

Women's Rugby – No. 2

The Guelph Gryphons women's rugby team maintains their spot at No. 2 in the latest U SPORTS Top 10 rankings after another convincing road win, defeating the Brock Badgers 75-6 on Saturday (Sept. 14). The Gryphons sitting at 3-0 on the season, now prepare themselves for a massive OUA showdown at Varsity on Saturday (Sept. 21) as they host No. 1-ranked Queen's Gaels.

Football – No. 10

Making their debut in the U SPORTS Top 10 is the Gryphons football team, entering the national rankings as the No. 10-ranked team in the country. This marks the U of G football team's first appearance in the U SPORTS Top 10 since September 13, 2022. The Gryphons were tested at home in Week 4 as they were able to come away with a 29-24 victory over the McMaster Marauders on Saturday (Sept. 14). The No. 10-ranked Gryphons (3-1) now set their sights on a Top 10 matchup in Kingston this Saturday (Sept. 21) as they take on No. 8-ranked Queen's Gaels.
