GUELPH, Ont. – The second U SPORTS Top 10 rankings of the 2022 season were released on Tuesday (September 13) with a trio of Gryphon varsity teams represented in the national rankings. The Gryphons men's soccer team moves up one spot, from No. 6 to No. 5 in the country after the defending OUA champions took four out of a possible six points this past weekend in their home-and-home matchup with the McMaster Marauders. The Gryphons women's rugby team, who are also defending OUA champions, stay put at No. 5 in the country following a dominant performance in their home opener. And rounding out the U of G representation in this week's national rankings is the Gryphon football team, who return to the U SPORTS Top 10 after a one week hiatus. The Gryphon football team comes in at No. 10 in this week's rankings after their victory on Saturday (Sept. 10) over the then-No. 8-ranked Waterloo Warriors. The No. 10-ranked Gryphon football team will now turn their attention to a Top 10 matchup as they hit the road to face the No. 9-ranked Ottawa Gee-Gees on Saturday (Sept. 17) in the nation's capital.
See below for a full list of Top 10 rankings for both women's rugby, men's soccer and football.
