GUELPH, Ont. – On Wednesday, June 14, 2023, Ontario University Athletics (OUA) released the 2023-24 field hockey schedule. The Guelph Gryphons field hockey team will officially get their 2023 campaign underway on Saturday, September 16, 2023 when they head to Kingston to take on the Queen's Gaels. For a second consecutive season, the eight field hockey programs across the OUA will play a 10-game regular season schedule, with Guelph's 2023 home opener set to take place during U of G's Homecoming weekend, with the Gryphons hosting the York Lions at 11am on Saturday, September 23.
Guelph Gryphons 2023 Field Hockey Schedule
A season ago, the Gryphons finished the regular season atop the OUA West Division standings thanks to a record of 7-1-2, but ultimately fell just short of reaching the OUA gold medal game after suffering a narrow 1-0 loss to York in the conference semifinals. In 2023, the Gryphons will once again set their sights on an OUA title, with the team already the proud owners of five conference banners (2019, 2013, 2010, 2009 & 2007). Should the Gryphons once again claim OUA gold in 2023, the team would then serve as hosts of the 2023 U SPORTS Field Hockey Championship, with the 2023 OUA winner set to host the Canada West champions in early November to determine a national champion.
