ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Guelph Gryphons varsity rowing program made their way to the Royal Henley Rowing Course in St. Catharines, Ontario on Friday, October 27 and Saturday, Oct. 28 for the 2023 OUA Rowing Championships. The Gryphon men finished 6th in the overall team standings while the Gryphon women finished 8th, with the U of G highlight of the weekend coming in the Gryphons men's lightweight 4+. The crew of

Kato Camp, and
Hallee Woodard combined to produce the Gryphons lone medal of the day, claiming OUA bronze thanks to a time of 7:08.76. Other notable Gryphons performances on the day include the women's 2x, where Gryphons second-year standout,
Mayva Hergel, narrowly missed out on reaching the podium, placing 4th with a time of 8:32.83. The women's team had another narrow miss on a podium position in the women's lightweight 4+ where a crew of
Sarah Ribey,
Natalie Miners,
Kaitlyn O'Donnell,
Lia Snucins, and
Kiera Hickie-Bentzen finished 4th with a time of 7:54.31. The Brock Badgers men successfully defended their OUA title while the Queen's Gaels captured top spot on the women's side to stand atop the final team standings at the 2023 OUA Rowing Championships.
