GUELPH, Ont. - A total of three Gryphon varsity teams are represented in the latest edition of the U SPORTS Top 10 rankings, which were released on Tuesday (Nov. 15, 2022). After debuting at No. 10 in the first women's basketball rankings of the 2022-23 season, the Gryphon women's basketball team moves up to No. 9 after improving to 2-0 thanks to a 95-80 win over the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks in their Home Opener on Friday (Nov. 11) at the Guelph Gryphons Athletics Centre. Also improving in the rankings is the Gryphon men's wrestling team, who jumps from No. 10 to No. 8, passing the York Lions and Saskatchewan Huskies. Meanwhile the Gryphon women's wrestling team holds at No. 6. The Gryphon varsity wrestlers were in action this past week (Nov. 13) in Toronto at the TMU Invitational, where
Jayden Sparks (gold - 56kg) and
Tristan Cako (bronze - 57kg) led the way on the women's and men's sides, respectively. The Gryphon varsity wrestlers will be back in action this Sunday (Nov. 20) at York University.
