ST. CATHARINES, Ont. – A total of 27 student-athletes from the Guelph Gryphons varsity rowing program made their way to the Royal Henley Rowing Course in St. Catharines, Ontario on Saturday (Oct. 29) for the 2022 OUA Rowing Championships. The Gryphons finished 7th in the overall team standings, on both the men's and women's sides, with the U of G highlight of the day coming in the Gryphons women's lightweight 4+.

Mark Teeter (coxie) combined to produce the Gryphons lone medal of the day, claiming OUA silver thanks to a time of 8:19.810. Action was delayed during the morning after a fog delay, which resulted in the cancellation of preliminary heats. Other notable Gryphon performances on the day include the men's lightweight 1x, where Gryphons second-year standout,
James Rourke, just narrowly missed out on reaching the podium, placing 4th with a time of 7:31.260 – just behind OUA bronze medalist Brendan Edge from Carleton, who posted a time of 7:30.200. The Western Mustangs women and Brock Badgers men successfully defended their OUA titles and stood atop the final team standings at the 2022 OUA Rowing Championships. For more information, visit
