Gryphons Name Leah Robinson as Additional Guest Speaker She’s Got Game, Gryphon Women’s Fundraising Ball

Guelph, Ont. (February 6, 2017) - The Guelph Gryphons, Department of Athletics is excited to announce that 2-time Paralympian Leah Robinson will serve as a guest speaker at the 2017 She's Got Game, Gryphon Women's Fundraising Ball at Cutten Fields on February 18, 2017.
 
"We are thrilled to welcome Leah as a guest speaker for our second annual She's Got Game Ball," said Director of Athletics, Scott McRoberts. "She has inspired others through her dedication and commitment to sport and is someone who's insights will be a welcome addition to what will surely be a tremendous event."
 
Leah Robinson suffered an injury at birth which caused a depletion of oxygen to her brain. At a very young age, Leah was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. Leah Robinson is the captain of the Guelph Gryphons 2016-17 Track and Field Team and one of the first Paralympic athletes to captain a USports Team at any University Canada. At age 14, Leah Robinson was the youngest member of the Canadian team at the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games. 
 
All proceeds from the event will go towards the funding of athletic scholarships for Gryphon female athletes and female varsity athletics programs. Tickets are still available for purchase, for more information please click here.
