Ottawa, ON - Friday night in Ottawa at the Icehouse on the campus of Carleton University, the Gryphons Men's Hockey team won 2-0 over the Carleton Ravens. Gryphons second year goalie Andrew D'Agostini recorded his second shutout of the season, turning away all 33 shots sent his way as Guelph won for the seventh time in their last nine games. With the win, the Gryphons improve to 8-6-0 while the Carleton Ravens fall to 9-4-0.

The Gryphons were able to open the scoring 2:41 into the game thanks second year winger Tryg Strand (Invermere, BC) who found the back of the net for his first goal of the 2015 season as U of G took a 1-0 lead into the 2nd period. That first period tally would stand for most of the game, as the Gryphons received a terrific performance from sophomore goalie Andrew D'Agostini (Scarborough, ON). Despite the fact that the Gryphons were outshot in each of the three periods, some strong play from D'Agostini in between the pipes was enough to maintain the one goal lead. With 25 seconds remaining in regulation, the Gryphons would seal the win with an empty net goal from Rob DeFulviis to make the final 2-0. D'Agostini, who recorded a 40-save shutout earlier in the season against Waterloo, earned his second clean sheet of the 2015-16 campaign and helped the Gryphons improve to 7-3 over their last 10 games. Of the 10 teams in the OUA West Division, no other team has posted a better record over their last 10 games than the Gryphons, who now travel to Kingston for a Saturday night matchup with the RMC Paladins (1-12-3).
