WATERLOO, Ont. – The Guelph Gryphons men's hockey team hit the road for the first time during the 2026-27 OUA regular season, with the Gryphons making the short trip to Waterloo for a Friday night matchup versus the Waterloo Warriors, followed by a Saturday night matchup against the Laurier Golden Hawks. Game 1 – Friday, Oct. 16, 2026 |  Guelph 3 @ Waterloo 4 (OT)

After splitting a pair of home games to open the season on Oct. 9 and 10, the Gryphons hit the road for the first time this season, beginning with a Friday night (Oct. 16) puck drop at the University of Waterloo's Columbia Icefield Arena to face the Waterloo Warriors. The Gryphons got off to a good start, building up a 3-1 lead with an opening goal from Nolan DeGurse, followed by power play goals from Nathan Allensen and Dylan Hudon. But the Warriors would score twice in the span of 1:36 to tie the game at 3-3 and force overtime, with Cory Jewitt scoring at the 5:49 mark of overtime to give the host Warriors a 4-3 overtime win. Gryphons second-year goalie Olivier Ciarlo made 40 saves on the night. With the overtime loss to the Warriors, the Gryphons record fell to 1-1-1 on the season.

Game 2 – Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026 |  Guelph 2 @ Laurier 3 (OT)

24 hours after facing the Warriors, the Gryphons were once again back in Waterloo, this time to face the Laurier Golden Hawks at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex. After Laurier jumped out to a 1-0 lead, the Gryphons answered in the closing moments of the opening period, with the reigning OUA Defenceman of the Year, Nathan Allensen, scoring on the power play to tie the game at 1-1. After Laurier re-took the lead, the Gryphons would once again fight back, with fifth-year forward Nolan DeGurse jamming home the game-tying goal with under four minutes remaining in the 3rd period. DeGurse's goal forced overtime and secured another point for the Gryphons, but it would be the Golden Hawks taking the win in OT with Callum Chisholm's goal at the 4:59 mark. With the overtime loss to Laurier on Saturday night, the Gryphons record fell to 1-1-2, while Laurier improved to 2-2-0.
