Gryphons comeback & defeat Mustangs in Overtime 7-6

London, Ont. (February 1, 204) – Nick Huard (North Bay, Ont) scored the game-winner with two minutes left in overtime and Keith Hamilton (Kelowna, BC) stopped 28 of 34 shots to lead the Gryphon men's hockey team to a comeback 7-6 victory over the Western Mustangs on Saturday night at Thompson Arena in London.
 
The Gryphons had to come from behind twice against Western before finally grabbing the 7-6 overtime win. The goals came in bunches with the Mustangs taking a 4-0 lead after the first period. In the second period, the Gryphons used an offensive burst to score four goals. The teams battled the rest of the way going back and forth in scoring.
 
At the end of the third period, Cale Jefferies scored on the power play to tie the game at 6-all with only two minutes left in the contest.
 
Ken Peroff and Cale Jefferies scored two goals each in the victory while Huard, Robert De Fulvilis and Nicholas Trecapelli chipped in with a goal apiece.  
 
Up next the Gryphons host Laurier this Thursday ta 7:30 p.m. at the Gryphon Centre.
