Oshawa, Ont. (Nov. 1, 2014) - Out of the race for gold, the Gryphon girls had high hopes of finishing 5
th overall in the league, landing themselves middle of the OUA pack- a respectable finish for a team suffering from severe "rebuilding." Unfortunately, the Gryphons lost to the Queen's Gaels by 1 devastating goal with the final score 10-9. Both teams played skilled, and at times, aggressive games- a check to the head ended Taylor Kidd's playing time at OUAs as she left the field with a concussion, but not before recording a hat trick. Midfielder and top Gryphon goal-scorer of the season Laurel McGillis also put 3 goals away during the game, and earned her second Player of the Game of the OUA tournament from the Queen's coaching team. Special mention goes out to line defenseman Sam Silva for her first goal of the season.
