Guelph, Ont. – With 1-in-5 Canadians suffering from mental illness at some point in their lives, the University of Guelph is proud to present Mental Health Awareness Week. As part of mental health awareness week (Nov. 10-14), the Guelph Gryphon men's hockey game on Friday, November 14
th, 2014 (versus Nipissing) will be dedicated to raising awareness for mental health.
This is an initiative developed by students and staff on the University of Guelph campus to promote mental wellness and open the dialogue about mental health. It is based out of The Wellness Centre in collaboration with several on-campus partners including ResLife, Office of Intercultural Affairs (OIA), Multi-Faith Resource Team, Student Support Network (SSN), Central Student Association (CSA), and Athletics. It aims to provide students with the information and resources to sustain their mental health.
Puck drop for the "1-in-5 Mental Health Awareness Hockey Game" is set for Friday, November 14 at 7:30pm at the Gryphon Centre.
