Coach Funk said, "After a less than great effort last night in which our bench bailed us out, tonight our starting group played much more consistently and with much better energy against Western. Our game plan was to limit the scoring of their middles and we did a great job of neutralizing that so it was a good road win."Â
Maddie DeDecker (Dorchester, Ont.) rebounded with 20 points (18 kills, 1 ace, 1 block) to lead the offense followed byÂ
Shannon Morelli (London, Ont.) with 11 (9 kills, 2 aces) andÂ
Nicole Collard (Sudbury, Ont.) with 10 (6 kills, 4 blocks).Â
Kristen Almhjell (Richmond, BC) led the defense with 14 digs followed by Morelli with 13. The Gryphons' next action is next weekend on the road when they travel to Thunder Bay to take on the Lakehead Thunderwolves at 2pm on Saturday afternoon.
