The Guelph Gryphons defeated the Brock Badgers Friday night 6-0 despite missing many regulars from their lineup due to injuries.  While the Gryphons have seen their ranks depleted due to serious injuries during the past month their effort has been pretty consistent.  And their hard work and smart play paid off with a shutout by Cody St. Jacques.  

The Gryphons opened the scoring in the game in the second period after a scoreless first period where the Gryphons outshot the Badgers 10-7.  Zachary Lillie (Bracebridge) scored on the powerplay and that was all the scoring until the last minute of the period when Guelph broke it open with two goals 6 seconds apart.  Ken Peroff (Astorville) finished on an outnumbered rush with assists from Philip Teri (Elora) and Philip Teri (Sauble Beach).  Seconds later Kristafer Belan (Florence) quickly finished a pass from Lillie and the Gryphs led 3-0 after two periods.

Guelph poured it on in the third period with three more goals.  James MacIntyre (Charlottetown, P.E.I.) jammed in a loose puck at the edge of the crease on a play by Cale Jefferies (Glenboro, Mn.).  Jon-Thomas MacDonald (Niagara Falls) scored his first of two in the period on assists by Teri and Ben Clarke (Halifax, N.S.) and his second was again set up by Teri and Clarke.

Guelph outshot Brock 31-27 on the evening and went 1/4 on the powerplay while Brock went 0/5.

Next action for the Gryphons is on the road again Saturday at arch rival Waterloo at 7:30 P.M. BOX SCORE
