The Gryphons battled the Lakers in North Bay last night (Oct. 15) despite missing key players from injury and suspensions, and the Lakers game away with a 5-2 win.

Guelph spotted the home team a 4-0 lead after the first period. Kevin Rebelo, Dorian Peca, Paul Cinafrini, and Conor O'Donnell scored for the Lakers.

The Gryphons won the second period 2-0 on goals by J.T. Macdonald (Niagara Falls, ON) on a quick release and followed by a redirect goal from Zach Lillie (Bracebridge, ON) on assists from Andrew Merrett (Vernon, BC) and Ben Clark (Halifax, NS).

The only goal of the third period was scored by Dorian Peca, with his second of the game.

The Gryphons went 0/4 on the powerplay while the Lakers were 0/3.

Andrew Loverock went the distance in net for the Gryphons while Dan Spence got the win for the Lakers.
