The short-handed Rams were overmatched on this night as the Gryphons came out of the gate fast building a big early lead in set 1 winning 25-9. The second set was much of the same with Guelph never letting Ryerson get any kind of momentum going in winning 25-12. However, the Gryphons came out unfocused in set 3 allowing Ryerson to build an 11-6 lead early before rebounding with a 5 point run to narrow the gap. From there, Guelph kept the pressure on Ryerson's serve receive eventually taking control to win 25-18.

"We knew we had to take care of business tonight which we did and several non-starters got the opportunity for playing time, which was a nice bonus. Taylor Crown did a great job in the middle tonight even though she hasn't trained much in that position lately," stated coach Paul Funk.

Brooke Lloyd was the offensive leader for the Gryphons tonight with 13 points (10 kills, 3 aces) followed by Kylen Van Osch (6 kills, 2 blocks) and Taylor Crown (6 kills, 2 blocks) with 8 each.

Guelph's home weekend continues tomorrow night at 6pm against the East Division leading York Lions.
