The University of Guelph women's volleyball team continued their hot start to the season tonight with a 3-0 home victory against the Toronto Varsity Blues. Set scores were
25-17, 25-8, 25-16
Guelph started slowly in the first set allowing Toronto a 5-1 lead to start the match but quickly recovered to take control.
Erinn Bickle was a dominant blocker as the Gryphons won 25-17. Guelph took control of set 2 early with a 14 point serving run by
Brooke Lloyd to win 25-8. The third set was close early as the Gryphons seemed to lose focus, but by the second technical time-out, they were back in control to win 25-16.Â
Brooke Lloyd (9 kills, 4 aces) and
Kylen Van Osch (11 kills, 1 ace, 1 block) led the Gryphon offense with 13 points each.Â
Guelph faces a stiff test tomorrow afternoon at 1pm when they travel to Hamilton to take on the McMaster Marauders.
