In set one, Guelph opened up a four point lead after the first technical time-out and maintained the advantage throughout winning 25-21. Despite losing starting setter Melissa McGinn to an ankle sprain early in the match, the Gryphons continued to roll with Chloe Deutscher running the offense while cruising to a 25-15 second set win. The third set was even until the first technical time-out but Guelph opened up a big lead in the middle section and was able to take the set 25-17.

"Chloe came in tonight after Mel went down and our offense never missed a beat. She deserves a lot of credit for playing solidly in an emergency situation," stated Coach Funk.

Guelph's offence was led by Erinn Bickle with 11 points (8 kills, 2 aces, 1 block) followed by Kylen Van Osch with 10 (9 kills, 1 block) and Kaitlyn Krizmanich with 9 (9 kills).

The Gryphons' next action is next Friday night at home at 6pm against the Toronto Varsity Blues.
