SAMANTHA RUSSELL, WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Samantha Russell (Paradise Valley, AZ) led the Gryphon women’s basketball team in two victories over Laurentian (80-37) and York (73-65) this past weekend. Against Laurentian on Friday the Biomedical Science student scored 13 points, six rebounds and had one blocked shot. The next night the forward continued to lead the team with 13 points, eight rebounds and went 3-for-4 from the free throw line. The Gryphons will be back in action at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 when they travel to Brock to take on the Badgers.
