Third year wrestler Oren Furmanov earns Gryphon Athlete of the Week honours after his Gold medal performance this past weekend at the OUA Wrestling Championships. Competing in the 54 kg weight class, the Bolton, Ontario native went undefeated in his three matches, including an impressive victory in the Finals against last year's OUA Champion and CIS Silver medalist in Sam Jagas (Brock). This was the first OUA Gold medal of Furmanov's career with the Gryphons, after the Nutritional & Nutraceutical Sciences major came close as a rookie when he took home a Silver from the OUA's.
 
Oren will now prepare to compete at the CIS Championships at Brock University (Feb. 26-27).
