Erin Houle is this week’s Gryphon Athlete of the Week after an impressive opening weekend of the 2015 OUA regular season schedule. Houle and the Gryphons went 2-1 over the weekend, picking up wins over McGill and Queen’s while their only loss came at the hands of the defending OUA Champion Varsity Blues.
 
Houle, who is a two-time OUA All-Star as well as a former All-Canadian, recorded three goals and three assists versus McGill on Saturday. In that game, the fifth year Burlington native scored what her coach describes as “the best goal of her career.” The three-time team captain sniped a powerful shot from the top of the circle that went off the crossbar and down into the back of the net. Houle and the Gryphons will next be in action again on Tuesday night (Sept. 22) when they travel to London to face the Western Mustangs.
