Fifth year team captain Kaitlyn Mora scored a pair of goals on Sunday (Jan. 11) to lead the Gryphon women's hockey team to a 4-0 road win over the Brock Badgers. Not only is Mora the Gryphons hardest worker and arguably the team's most consistent player, she is also one of the fastest skaters on the roster, and her tremendous speed was on full display in St. Catherine's on the weekend. The Guelph, Ontario native scored twice in the opening period, both times blowing past Brock defenders before firing shots into the top corner (one glove side, the second blocker side). The Human Kinetics major was also playing a new position as she was recently moved from wing to centre. Aside from scoring two goals, Kaitlyn also played a key role in winning faceoffs and playing hard on the defensive side of the puck. The newly formed line of Mora, Averi Nooren (Aylmer, ON) and Kaitlin Lowy (Toronto, ON) delivered immediate results as the three combined for seven points.
