Guelph Gryphons vs Waterloo Warriors

Five of the six spots are already secured for the 2026 OUA Baseball Championship Tournament (Oct. 9-11), but the Guelph Gryphons and Waterloo Warriors will square off for the right to round out the playing field at the conference championship tournament, when they meet at Hastings Stadium in Guelph on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 3). The Gryphons finished the OUA regular season with a 10-6 record and the Warriors finished with a 7-5 record. Toronto, Queen's, Carleton, Brock and Laurier have already qualified for the provincial championship tournament. Saturday's Wild Card game between the Gryphons and Warriors will be a single-game (9-inning) mathcup from Hastings Field in Guelph with first pitch scheduled for 12pm. The Gryphons and Warriors split their regular season doubleheader earlier in the season back on September 19. This season marks the first year in which OUA baseball has added the wild card play-in game to their postseason format. The OUA Baseball Championship Tournament format has also changed, and will now be a double-elimination format for the six teams that compete for a conference banner in Welland from October 16-18.
