GUELPH, Ont. - The Guelph Gryphons women's soccer team has continued their perfect start to the 2026 season, earning a 1-0 road win on Friday night (Sept. 25) at Ron Joyce Stadium in Hamilton over the McMaster Marauders.
Brooklyn McLaughlin, a human health and nutritional sciences major from Cambridge, continued to impress in her first season as a Gryphon, scoring the match-winner in the 69th minute of play. It marked the second consecutive match in which
Brooklyn McLaughlin was the match-winner after she also scored the winner in her team's 1-0 victory over the Western Mustangs on September 20. With the win over McMaster on Friday night, the Gryphons improve to a perfect 6-0-0 on the season, and remain the only team in the OUA to have taken all three points in every match played this season.
The Gryphons, ranked No. 6 in the country in the latest U SPORTS Top 10 rankings, will now return home on Sunday, Sept. 27 for a marquee matchup with a team just one point behind them in the OUA West standings in the Brock Badgers. Brock has conceded just one goal all season and will arrive in Guelph on Sunday with a record of 5-2-0 (wins-draws-losses). Kickoff between Guelph and Brock on Sunday is set for 1pm at the Gryphon Soccer Complex.
