TORONTO, Ont. – Seven student-athletes from the University of Guelph football team have earned an invite to take part in the 2026 CFL Combines in March. On Thursday, January 29, 2026 the Canadian Football League (CFL) unveiled the rosters of the top university football players from across the country who have been invited to take part in the CFL's 2026 Combines.
Three Gryphons have earned an invite to the national combine with
Isaiah Smith (running back),
Mitchel Schechinger (offensive line) and
Yunus Larry (linebacker) all set to head to Edmonton, Alberta (March 27-29) for the 2026 CFL Combine. Four additional Gryphon football players,
Donavin Milloy (running back),
Robert Keyes-Wilson (defensive line),
Jack Cobb (linebacker) and
Gianni Green (defensive back) have earned invites to the CFL Invitational Combine on March 6 from Waterloo. The top players identified during the Invitational Combine at the University of Waterloo on March 6 will earn their way to the national combine in Edmonton, later in the month. The 2026 CFL Draft is scheduled for Tuesday, April 28, 2026.

Mitchel Schechinger
Yunus Larry appeared in 31 games for the Gryphons in his four seasons, racking up 77.5 tackles and 5.5 sacks. Larry in 2025 against the Ottawa Gee-Gees scored his only touchdown on a 65-yard interception return.
Isaiah Smith was the 2022 OUA Rookie of the Year for the Gryphons, rushing for 495 yards and finding the end zone three times. Smith appeared in 21 games for the team, rushing for 880 yards and rushed for 5 touchdowns. Smith this season added a receiving element to his game, catching 22 balls for 295 yards and finding the end zone twice.
Mitchel Schechinger has been an anchor for the Gryphons offensive line in his four season with the team. Schechinger is a two-time OUA All-Star and was named an U SPORTS Second Team All-Canadian in 2024.

Robert Keyes-Wilson
Gianni Green appeared in 30 games for the Gryphons in the secondary, recording 64.5 tackles and 7 interceptions. Green in the 2025 season tied the U SPORTS single-game record with 4 interceptions against Carleton.
Donavin Milloy is a two-time OUA Second Team All-Star for the Gryphons, amassing 1,930 yards on the ground and 10 rushing touchdowns in his 24 games played for the team.
Jack Cobb spent four seasons with the Gryphons, appearing at linebacker for the team where the appeared in 25 games, recording 61.5 total tackles and 2.5 sacks.
Rounding out the Gryphons going to the regional combine is defensive lineman
Robert Keyes-Wilson. Keyes-Wilson appeared in 32 games in his four season it the team, recording 44 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks. Keyes-Wilson was a 2024 OUA Second Team All-Star after finishing the season with 18.5 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks.
