HALIFAX, N.S. - Wednesday night (Nov. 6) in Halifax at the 2024 U SPORTS Women's Soccer All-Canadian banquet, Gryphon defender Elise Bell was named a U SPORTS Second Team All-Canadian. It marks the second consecutive season in which a University of Guelph women's soccer student-athlete has been named an All-Canadian, with her teammate Christina Gomes being named a U SPORTS First Team All-Canadian last season.

Elise Bell, a second-year defender from Toronto, had an exceptional 2024 season for the Gryphons to earn All-Canadian status for the 2024 season. Bell, in her first full season as starter at full back, started all 14 games for her team this season as part of a Gryphon defence which conceded only 13 goals on the year to go along with five clean sheets her defence kept. The biomedical science major also plays an important role in the team's attack, making runs from her full back position into her opposition's territory. Bell becomes just the seventh Gryphons women's soccer player since 2000 to garner All-Canadian status.
