Familiar foes meet once again for a chance to hoist the Turner Trophy. For the third time in four seasons, the Guelph Gryphons men's rugby team will battle the Queen's Gaels in the OUA championship game. The Gryphons will look to win their 4th consecutive OUA title, and 7th conference title in program history. Guelph has knocked off Queen's twice during their three-peat and they currently have a three-game win streak over their rivals from Kingston, including a dramatic 35-31 come-from-behind victory over the Gaels on September 14 where the Gryphs came back from a 24-7 deficit which earned them the right to host the title game as the top seeded team in the OUA. The Gryphons defeated Waterloo last week after earning the bye as the No. 1 seed while the Gaels, without the benefit of the bye week as the No. 3 seed, defeated the Badgers in the quarterfinals before traveling to London to earn a semifinal victory over the Western Mustangs. Both teams have qualified for the 2024 Canadian University Men's Rugby Championship in Ottawa (Nov. 13-17). Friday night's OUA championship game from Varisty Field in Guelph can also be seen live online at
