NORTH BAY, Ont. - The Guelph Gryphons men's and women's cross country teams travelled to North Bay for the 2024 OUA Cross Country Championships, hosted by Nipissing University. The Gryphon men took home silver, finishing 2nd out of 15 universities in the final team standings, with a pair of podium finishes (
Max Davies, 2nd and
Jack Lehto, 3rd) helping the Gryphon men claim silver. The U of G women finished 5th in the final team standings out of 15 schools, with
Michelle Gray the first Gryphon woman to cross the line, finishing 15th overall in a field of 100 runners.
The Queen's Gaels won the men's title, while the Western Mustangs took the women's OUA title.
The Gryphons had a pair of runners earn 'OUA Rookie of the Year' honours, with
Luke Feltham and
Kristina Etezadi the first freshmen to cross the finish line at this year's OUA Cross Country Championships.
Next up for the Gryphons men's and women's cross country teams, the 2024 U SPORTS Cross Country Championships in Kelowna, B.C. on Saturday, November 9 hosted by UBC Okanagan.
