GUELPH, Ont. – On Thursday, January 19, 2023, Ontario University Athletics (OUA) released the
2023 football schedule. The Gryphon football team will officially kick off the 2023 season on a Saturday afternoon in late August, with the University of Toronto Varsity Blues set to visit U of G's Alumni Stadium for the season opener on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 1pm.
The four home games for the Gryphons in 2023 will see Guelph play host to U of T, Laurier, York and Queen's. The annual University of Guelph homecoming football game is set for Saturday, September 23, 2023, when the Gryphons will host the York Lions. Road games for the Gryphons in 2023 will see the team travel to Windsor for a night game in Week 2, followed by 1pm matchups at McMaster (Week 4), Waterloo (Week 6) and Carleton (Week 9). With 11 different schools across the province making up the OUA football conference, each season there are two teams within the conference who the Gryphons will not face during regular season play. The non-combatants for the Gryphons during the 2023 football regular season are the Western Mustangs and Ottawa Gee-Gees.
2023 Gryphon football season tickets go on sale Monday, May 29, 2023, with fans able to purchase a $60 season ticket package, which allows fans to reserve the same seat for all four regular season home games.
