VICTORIA, B.C. - The Guelph Gryphons women's rugby team is off to the national semifinals thanks to a thrilling 26-25 victory over the UBC Thunderbirds on Wednesday evening in Victoria. The Gryphons, seeded No. 6 in an eight-team field at the 2022 U SPORTS Women's Rugby, opened up play on Wednesday with a come-from-behind victory over the Canada West champions and No. 3-seeded UBC Thunderbirds.
Kennedy Feasby's try in the final minute of play got the Gryphons to within a point, setting the stage for
Kendra Cousineau, who split the uprights on a game-winning convert on the final play of the game to seal the win for the Gryphons in the U SPORTS quarterfinal matchup. Guelph's tries were scored in the 20th, 41st, 58th and 69th minute by
Kennedy Feasby (2),
Shoshauna Gauvin, and
Brianna Martey, respectively. The Gryphons will now face the Quebec champions, the Laval Rouge et Or, on Friday night (Nov. 4) at 8pm (ET) in a national semifinal. The game can be seen live online on
