GUELPH, Ont. – The Guelph Gryphons women's rugby team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 99-8 victory over the visiting Laurier Golden Hawks on Friday night (Sept. 11) at the University of Guelph's Varsity Field. For the No. 5 nationally ranked Gryphons, 11 different players recorded tries on the night with Addy Holmes (Waterloo, ON) and
Madison Donnelly (Little Britain, ON) each scoring three tries with
Amanda Sarabura (Guelph, ON) splitting the uprights on 11 converts. With the loss, the Laurier Golden Hawks fall to 1-1 on the season after having previously opened their season with a 67-21 victory over the Toronto Varsity Blues on September 5.
The No. 5-ranked Gryphons women's rugby team (2-0) will now shift their focus to a marquee matchup on Saturday (Sept. 19) versus the No. 3-ranked Queen's Gaels (2-0). Game time from the University of Guelph's Varsity Field is set for 1pm on Alumni Day.
