Gryphons Make a Big Splash Adding A Power Bat to an Already Dynamic Lineup

GUELPH, Ont. - The Guelph Gryphons varsity baseball program is pleased to announce the signing of highly-touted recruit, Ayden Finn from the Ontario Terriers Baseball Program in Mississauga, Ont. Gryphon 2021 baseball recruit - Ayden FinnFinn is set to join the Gryphons in the Fall of 2021 as the Gryphons look to build on a very successful season in 2019 where they finished tied for 1st in the regular season, ultimately winning the inaugural Canadian Baseball National Championship. Finn represents another Gryphons player previously coached by U of G head coach Dean Mariani in youth baseball, joining Owen Ellis and Aidan Mendonza currently on the roster. Coach Mariani is very excited about adding the power hitting third baseman. "Ayden is a bright young man that I've been fortunate enough to coach and work with since Peewee," says Mariani. "It has been a rewarding experience watching him develop on and off the field and we look forward to him having a big impact in our lineup during his time here with the Gryphons. Finn's big frame and strength give him the ability to consistently hit balls very hard and will be another big presence in the middle of the lineup. But more importantly, we know we are getting a student athlete that works extremely hard in the classroom, on the field and in the weight room. He will fit right in with the culture of our program."
