BASEBALL: Gryphons Add to 2019 Recruiting Class

GUELPH, Ont. – The Guelph Gryphons varsity baseball program is excited to announce the addition of the following recruits for the 2019 OUA season.

Alexander Drouillard – OF / RHP (Tecumseh Thunder)
Alex is the prototypical product of the great Tecumseh Thunder program, good contact hitter with gap to gap power, can beat you on the bases with a sub 7 second 60 yrd and is a competitor on the mound with a mid 80s fastball that he can command. Alex will be given an opportunity in his freshman year to be a two-way player. We believe he will be a big part of our future.

Zachary Rachar – SS / 2B (Mohawk Valley CC)
Zach comes to the Gryphons as a transfer from Mohawk Valley CC, hitting .339  as the starting shortstop in his sophomore season. A product of the Ontario Terrier program, Zach is a very polished and fundamentally sound infielder with the potential to be a standout player in the OUA.

Matthew Gravelle – OF / RHP (Tecumseh Thunder)
Another product of the Tecumseh Thunder program, currently playing on the 21U Junior team. Matt is a two-way player that plays defense in centerfield at an elite level and projects as a top of the order back. Matthew will have a big impact on the 2019 Gryphons.

Robbie Gauthier – C (Mississauga North Tigers)
A left-handed hitting catcher, currently playing for the Mississauga North Tigers. With an exit velocity in the 90s and pop time of 1.92-2.10 Robbie is a contributor on both sides of the ball. He is known for his ability to call a game and handle and pitching staff. Robbie has the potential to be an elite defensive catcher and middle of the order bat in the OUA.
