LONDON, ON - Saturday afternoon in London, the Gryphons women's soccer team saw their undefeated run to start the season end following a 2-0 loss to the Western Mustangs. With the loss, the Gryphons fall to 3-1-3 (wins-losses-draws) on the season. Western improves to 5-0-3.

Last season, the Gryphons upset the Mustangs in London with a 1-0 road win at Western in the opening round of the OUA playoffs. Saturday afternoon however, it was the Mustangs who jumped out to a 1-0 lead thanks a goal in the 20th minute from their fourth year midfielder Stephanie Di Tella. The Mustangs were able to extend that lead to 2-0 later in the first half on a goal from defender Jenna White. The Gryphons were unable to solve a tough Western defence, which has conceded just three goals in eight matches so far this season.

The Gryphons will be right back in action on Sunday afternoon in Windsor when they take on the undefeated Lancers (4-0-3) at 1pm.
