WINDSOR, ON - Sunday afternoon in Windsor, the Gryphons women's soccer team lost 1-0 to the Lancers. With the loss, the Gryphons fall to 3-2-3 (wins-losses-draws) on the season while the Lancers improve to 5-0-4.
The lone goal of the match came at the half hour mark of the opening half. Lancers third year forward Cassie Chretien had her first shot stopped by Gryphons keeper
Libby Brenneman, but was able to follow up and score on the rebound.
The 1-0 defeat leaves the Gryphons currently sitting in 6th place in the OUA West division standings, but with a game-in-hand on each of the five teams ahead of them. With eight games remaining in their regular season schedule, the Gryphons will be looking to get back into the win column this coming weekend (October 1 & 2) when they play host to the winless Algoma Thunderbirds (0-10-0).
