Coach Paul Funk stated, "We had good stretches of play in both the first and second sets but we really struggled mentally towards the end of the third set. We were waiting around for mistakes from the opposition instead of finishing strong and we'll need to be mentally tougher than that going forward."
Maddie Dedecker led the Guelph offence with 14 points (11 kills, 3 aces) followed by
Farren Varty-Macdonald (10 kills, 1 block) and
Becky Breau (8 kills, 2 aces, 1 block) with 11 each. DeDecker and Breau also contributed 10 digs each for the defense. The Gryphons next action is next Friday at home when they host the Ottawa Gee-Gees at 6pm.
